Jacob Watrous’ areas of expertise include architectural acoustics, interior room acoustics, acoustic testing and noise monitoring, acoustic separation, vibration, and HVAC noise control.  His combination of skills (music, show production, architecture, mathematics, and technology) is a strong asset to SoundSense and assists the company in developing solutions that are innovative and valuable.

Jacob has contributed to a variety of different projects including:

Prior to joining SoundSense, Jacob was an intern for IAC Acoustics in New York, NY in their Aero-Acoustics Laboratory, where he performed laboratory acoustic tests on assorted products.

Jacob received his Associate of Science in Show Production from Full Sail University in 2009 and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Acoustic Concentration and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Hartford in 2013.  Jacob is a member of the Acoustical Society of America. In his free time he enjoys music, hiking, and gardening.
